This weekend my relaxing retreat has been Woburn Center Parcs. Many of you may have fond memories of cycling through the forest and throwing yourselves down rapids resulting in impressive bruises! My grown up version centres around the spa, Aqua Sana.
Woburn’s Aqua Sana is the first of its kind in Europe, with six unique, nature-inspired spas to journey through with 26 experience rooms.
My favourite mini spa was the Blossom Spa which has a steam room, rain walk, relaxation lounge, a heat room and spa showers all scented with the heavenly smell of West Indian Rose and coloured in pink hues.
The other stand out feature of the spa is the heated outdoor infinity pool where you can relax with jacuzzi pumps and enjoy the surrounding views of the forest.
There are more than 50 treatments on offer – I had the Decléor Aromatherapy Massage (55 minutes, from £69). My therapist, Scarlett, was amazing and tailored the treatment to my needs, (I went for the circulatory massage with Lavender, a soothing scent.) The rule no pain, no gain always applies with a massage but I came away feeling totally relaxed and rejuvenated.
I would definitely recommend the Décleor Aroma Dynamic Circulagel, which was used at the end of my treatment. It is currently on offer for £23.50 at allbeauty.com (RRP £31.50.)
Although it says it is for legs, this gel can be used on all muscles that are aching and after a long day in the office or setting up events like myself the cooling quality of this gel is a godsend! It’s key ingredients are Witch Hazel, Arnica, Camphor and Menthol. I love the smell of mint and so the Menthol is perfect and soothes at the same time. It is important to let the gel absorb into the skin so wait at least 20 minutes before putting clothes on.
So whether it’s a girls’ day out or a romantic couple’s weekend, Aqua Sana at Woburn Center Parcs is definitely the perfect place!
