L’Oréal Pure Clay: A Review

So I have always thought that face masks are always fun for a girls’ night in but don’t seem to have any major skincare benefits.

Enter L’Oréal Pure Clay masks! I am completely converted and absolutely love this product. There are three different types of mask: Detox, Glow and Purifying.

My personal favourite is the Detox mask which contains charcoal and after a rather big weekend with best friends my skin was in dire need of a detox!

So here’s the science behind the ingredients:

  • Koalin – A highly effective natural clay, known to absorb impurities and excess sebum.
  • Montmorillonite – Rich in minerals, a clay recognised for helping to eliminate imperfections.
  • Ghassoul – A pure clay highly concentrated in minerals renowned to help clarify complexion.
  • Charcoal – Acts like a magnet to draw out impurities.

The mask has a really nice creamy texture which aims to cleanse the skin without dying it out. Having left it on for about 10 minutes I removed it using a face cloth and warm water and the results were immediate. My skin had never felt so soft after using any skincare product and as it has promised my skin was far more radiant.

Overall the main feeling I have is that my skin feels so clean after using this product, it really does draw out any impurities and excess oil. I have been using the mask once a week for the past 3 weeks and it is definitely part of my must have skincare routine.

A 50ml pot of the mask is supposed to give you 10 applications but don’t panic if you want to use it regularly as it is such a bargain at only £7.99!
